Swan Upping

Davd is the King’s Chief Swan Upper and is seen each year on the river as he and his men from the Vintners and Dyers livery companies in their scarlet uniforms count, check and mark the year’s young cygnets. He will talk about the history of swan upping and the biology and care of mute swans.
