SUMMARY:Summer Boat Trip Maidenhead to Windsor Return
DESCRIPTION:Our Summer Event on 6th August is a river cruise to Windsor and back. The boat departs Maidenhead Promenade at 11am. We will pass the houses of the rich and famous\, Bray Film Studios\, Oakley Court\, Monkey Island and Windsor Racecourse before arriving in Windsor at 12.30pm. This will allow us nearly 4 hours in Windsor to do some lunch\, shopping or sight-seeing before departing from the Windsor Promenade at 16.15pm and arriving back in Maidenhead at 17.45pm. The skipper will provide an informative commentary throughout the trip of the places of interest. Drinks will be available on board but have to be paid for in cash.\nThere are two car parks nearby – \n1) at Riverside Gardens which is opposite where we board and I believe costs £4.50 per day\, and \n2) at Boulters Lock which costs £7.80 per day and is probably a 10 minute walk to the moored boat. \nI will subsequently email a map of the car parks and departure place to those who book the trip. \nCost:   £26 per person \nDeparture: \n\nBoard the boat at Maidenhead Promenade by 10.45 for a PROMPT departure at 11.00. SUMMARY:Meet-up at Cliveden for Coffee and Garden Tour
DESCRIPTION:We plan to have an informal get-together at Cliveden on 4 June\, meeting in the Conservatory Café for a 12-noon coffee and cake (or light lunch if you so desire) – order and pay yourself at the café counter. Then at 2pm\, if you would like to\, join a guided tour of the garden led by head gardener Anthony Mason. Maybe their General Manager Robert Miles or their Operations Manager Amy Goldsworthy will have time to come and talk to us as well.\nThis is a self-drive event\, though I expect there will be places available for those without transport. \nWe need to tell Cliveden the number of members coming\, which may be limited.
